Senior Network Compliance Manager
What initially attracted me to Snap Finance was the company’s strong emphasis on doing things the right way - its values really resonated with me from the start. As an undergraduate seeking a role that was both challenging and rewarding, I was excited by the clear career development opportunities discussed during the interview process - not just with the hiring manager, but also directly with the CEO.
What stood out even more was the collaborative environment and positive work culture; the people I met seemed genuinely happy, driven, and aligned in their work ethic. I started as a Customer Service Agent, fresh out of university, learning how the business operated, and speaking with retailers and customers daily supporting them with a number of queries day to day. I discussed at length with the hiring manager(s) at the time, that I wanted to progress my career into Internal Account Management. I was able to achieve that goal in just eight months and continued progressing through the business within the commercial team, developing the role of Internal Account Management, as the function did not exist prior to me obtaining this position. Once this was established, I progressed into a Team Leader role and had a team of Internal Account Managers and Business Development Managers, helping to grow and support the existing portfolio of retailers we were partnered with.
After working closely with the Compliance Team on several wider projects concerning our retailer network, I was recruited into the Compliance Team as a Network Compliance Manager. There, I started to help shape the risk and governance framework for our retailer network, eventually inheriting and growing a team, which led to my promotion to Senior Network Compliance Manager, the role I hold today.
I’ve had the opportunity to take part in several training and leadership development initiatives at Snap, which have had a significant impact on my career. One of the most valuable experiences has been the one-on-one leadership meetings, which provided tailored advice and support around career development. I’ve also participated in leadership group workshops, particularly focused on handling disputes and managing difficult conversations. These sessions have helped me approach people management and challenging situations with a more thoughtful perspective - sometimes reinforcing that my instinctive approach is sound, and other times helping me see things in a new light. Overall, these initiatives have played a key role in helping me identify where I want to go in my career, what I’m most passionate about, and shaping a clear plan for continued growth within Snap.
My proudest achievement since joining Snap Finance has been the trust the business has placed in me to build and develop multiple roles - many of which typically require prior experience or specialised knowledge. Being given that level of responsibility, alongside the support of managers, directors, and the CEO, has been incredibly rewarding and has pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. As a result of that trust and the progress I’ve made, I was fortunate enough to be selected by our CEO last year to visit our parent company in Salt Lake City and attend their 2025 Sales Kick-Off.
My advice to anyone considering a career at Snap Finance is to go for it - especially if you’re someone who’s eager to learn, grow, and be part of something dynamic. One of the most valuable things about working at Snap is that you’re not limited as an individual.
